VSCode vs Fleet — Light weight IDE for Developers
Fleet — IDE from JetBrains

A lightweight IDE has emerged in 2021 named “Fleet” built by the team JetBrains.

As competition between JetBrains Fleet and VScode heat 🔥 up between developers' choice of IDE, we should see more productivity.

This new Integrated development environment is calling itself the “Next-generation IDE”.

Reduce the configuration necessary to begin a project and also should improve your overall productivity.

Will “Fleet” hold up to the ideal developer experience for new developers? Let’s look into the features currently supported and made available by the JetBrains team.

Context-aware code completion, Quick fix code snippets, and Collaboration — connecting sessions between developers.

However many features are still missing full support.

At the time of writing this article, JetBrain is missing support for Docker and a few programming languages. Such as HTML5, PHP, C++, and even Dart.

Fleet is considered a “lightweight editor” however it is clear they have many plans to add more features in the future. How light will it be?
